
Dr. Chhalamayi Reddy
Dr. Mrs. Chhalamayi Reddy, affectionately known as Chhala Didi, is a visionary educator with a deep commitment to innovative educational practices that promote self-discovery and holistic growth for both students and teachers. A former student of the Sri Aurobindo International Center of Education in Puducherry, she later earned her Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University, USA, and her Ph.D. in English from Pondicherry University, where she researched Sri Aurobindo’s work, The Future Poetry.
With over 30 years of experience as the Principal of Sri Aurobindo International School, Hyderabad, Chhala didi has consistently demonstrated leadership in implementing an “Integral Education” model inspired by Sri Aurobindo’s philosophy, a vision now aligned with India’s NEP 2020.
She has trained faculty in Integral Education methodologies, engaged parents in its principles, and provided consulting services to schools seeking to adopt this model. Her commitment to child-centered learning has led to initiatives such as a student learning resource center and innovative, self-learning materials for primary education.
Dr. Reddy is an accomplished author and presenter on Integral Education, having published several articles and led workshops for students, teachers, and school leaders nationwide. As a Chairperson of the Institute of Human Study, Hyderabad, she also oversees rural development programs and community activities thru different trusts. Additionally, she founded the CBSE-affiliated residential school New Creation, which follows a free-progress approach to learning. Through her leadership and passion, Dr. Reddy continues to inspire a generation of educators, students, and communities.
