India’s Evolutionary March

About the Workshop

This workshop delves into the vision of Sri Aurobindo, a prominent cultural scientist and philosopher, on the evolutionary growth and essence of Indian culture. We will explore his perspective that views Indian culture progressing on spiritual lines, distinct from the materialism often associated with the West.

Sri Aurobindo believed ancient India achieved a unique harmony of its three facets – body, mind and soul. It is the understanding of this aspect that facilitates a deeper comprehension of Indian culture. It is a novel way of revisiting Indian culture and its glorious past based on which we can carve a noble road map for the future.

In this three-day workshop, we’ll delve into the development of Indian culture through its spiritual traditions, intellectual contributions, and social structures. This program is designed for those seeking a fresh perspective on Indian culture. We’ll explore key concepts like culture, civilization, and evolution, drawing from Sri Aurobindo’s insightful cultural writings. This will spark your interest in further exploration of his works and their connection to India’s past, present, and future.
