Following may be some of the prerequisites and stages in the annihilation of ego:
-
the renunciation of the idea of being the doer of works, not only the desire for the fruits of works
-
stepping back and observing the play of forces in Nature
-
the recognition that it is only the Divine Shakti that does all first through the ego and then through Prakriti and her three modes of operation, sattwa, rajas, tamas
-
transforming the three gunas into their spiritual counterparts : tamas into energy and action of the Shakti; Rajas into divine illumination and bliss; Sattwa into divine repose and calm.
-
ruthless sincerity and caution against the subtle ambushes of the ego that try constantly to capture the soul by posing as the Truth
-
going behind the veil of Prakriti and becoming the real Person that sanctions and allows
-
through a happy self-giving obeying the Will of the Shakti that is at once Knowledge, Love and the supreme Bliss of existence.
